Sheryl Dowlin
I recently retired from
teaching and have moved back to Boise where I graduated from Borah High
School and Boise State University and where my children and grandchildren
attend and have attended local schools.
During the 20 years I
lived in Minnesota, I worked with educators and cultural diversity networks
in planning, organizing, coordinating, publicizing and assessing several
educational projects.
My work with educators and community members in both Native American
and non-native communities has sought to bring about understanding and
reconciliation. As the great Spanish philosopher, Jorge Santayana taught
us: “Those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it.” Understanding our past and our heritage are the keys to understanding
who we are as individuals, a community and a country today.
As a grant writer and project director on several educational projects,
I know the importance and value of the follow-up assessment work done
after the project event is over. It is essential to understand what
worked and what did not work. It is of value to know how audience participants
perceived the event and what they may have learned from their experience
with it.
My communication training expertise and services are designed to help
you and/or your organization be successful in your endeavors.
